If you’re living with bipolar disorder,
you already know…
I’m Dr. Janelle Louis, and I help people with bipolar disorder who are stable on medications but still struggling. Together, we’ll work to:
Optimize your medications so they work with your body instead of against it.
Use integrative strategies (nutraceuticals, vitamins, herbs, lifestyle adjustments) that can enhance medication efficacy and ease side effects.
Address the root factors that often undermine mental health — thyroid function, blood sugar balance, inflammation, nutritional deficiencies, and more.
Incorporate therapy when needed to help you process, cope, and grow stronger mentally and emotionally.
This isn’t about replacing your medications or pushing you off of them. Not at all; this is about helping you feel more alive, more balanced, and more like yourself again, all while staying safe and supported.
For some, medications remain an important long-term part of treatment. For others, once stability is achieved and maintained, it may be possible to safely and gradually decrease medications under expert guidance.
Unlike providers who rush or pressure you, my approach to what’s known as de-prescribing (gradually and carefully discontinuing mental health medications) is cautious, individualized, and collaborative. We only consider it if:
You’ve been stable for a meaningful period of time
You feel ready to explore lowering your dosage
We can create a gradual taper plan that won’t shock your brain or body
This way, we protect against relapse while giving your mind and body the best chance to adjust smoothly.
Whether your next step is optimizing your meds or safely exploring a taper, you don’t have to do it alone.
This isn’t some far off dream. With the right approach, it’s possible.
I specialize in helping people with complex mental health needs who want more than just a prescription. My approach combines:
You don’t have to settle for survival. You can thrive with the right approach.
If you’ve been saying to yourself, “I’m stable, but I’m not really living…” I want you to know: there’s hope. You can reclaim your joy, your creativity, and your drive, all without losing the safety net your medications provide.
I am credentialed with several insurance companies, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Aetna, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, Quest Behavioral Health, Independence Blue Cross Pennsylvania, Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. I also accept cash-pay patients.
If this sounds like what you’ve been searching for, take the first step toward finally feeling like you again by scheduling a consultation call so that we can determine if we are a good fit for each other.
